Having completed the second giving of the Law and nearing the end of his life, Moses concludes Chapter 30 by again exhorting the Israelites to choose life and good instead of death and evil. We have the same choice today in deciding whether to choose or reject Jesus, Who said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
In Chapter 31, Moses emphasizes the importance of obeying the law and encourages them to be strong and of good courage, despite the “giants” they will encounter: “…do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” God does not change. It is the same God Who promises that He will never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5b). Pastor Kevin exhorts us to do right and let God deal with the giants in our lives as well.
