Felix, with his wife Drusilla, summons Paul and “heard him concerning the faith in Christ. Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, ‘Go away for now; when I have a convenient time, I will call for you’” (Acts 24:24-25 NKJV).
Considering the historical and family background of Felix and Drusilla, both were almost certainly well aware of several significant events in the life of Jesus and the early church and were, at this time, living in adultery. Although Paul’s message caused Felix to fear for his eternal future, he refused to immediately repent. In these last days, Pastor Kevin warns us against postponing obeying God’s call until “convenient,” but to humbly turn to Jesus in repentance and faith while there is still time.
