Today’s study includes a close look at Psalm 51, David’s prayer of repentance, which he penned after Nathan confronted him over his adultery and murder. Related passages reveal God’s great mercy in forgiving the sinner who humbly repents and seeks His forgiveness. How would history have been different if David had refused to repent? Why did God take the life of Bathsheba’s firstborn son by David? Although David repented and received God’s forgiveness for his sins, he did suffer the awful consequences for the remainder of his life, as Nathan had prophesied. Pastor Kevin exhorts believers to obey God’s laws, trusting that He knows what is best for us.
