I Shall Go to Him, But He Shall Not Return to Me – 2 Samuel 12:15-25

Today’s study includes a close look at Psalm 51, David’s prayer of repentance, which he penned after Nathan confronted him over his adultery and murder.  Related passages reveal God’s great mercy in forgiving the sinner who humbly repents and seeks His forgiveness.  Pastor Kevin addresses questions including: What would have happened if Nathan had not been obedient to confront David over his sin?  How would history have been different if David had refused to repent?  Why did God take the life of Bathsheba’s firstborn son by David?  What does it mean: “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me” (Psalm 51:4 NKJV)?

Although David repented and received God’s forgiveness for his sins, he did suffer the awful consequences for the remainder of his life, as Nathan had prophesied.  Pastor Kevin exhorts believers to obey God’s laws, trusting that He knows what is best for us.
