Samuel privately anoints Saul and then calls all the tribes and clans of Israel to him at Mizpah, where he prepares to reveal God’s choice of Saul as their new king. When Saul cannot be found, God tells Samuel where he is hiding, and Saul presents him to the people. “So all the people shouted and said, ‘Long live the king’” (1 Samuel 10:24b NKJV)!
Pastor Dustin expounds on the role of the Holy Spirit in Saul’s life and His role and work in the life of the believer today. We see how Saul from the beginning was reluctant to obey Samuel’s command to “do as the occasion demands; for God is with you” (v.7), which is a warning to believers today. Pastor Dustin also explained that while God had provided the standard for Israel’s human kings, Jesus is the standard for those who believe in Him.
