In this Part 2 of Pastor Kevin’s three-part teaching on God’s instructions for building the tabernacle contained in Exodus 38 and 39, we look at the altar of burnt offering, the bronze laver, the curtains of the courtyard, and the priestly garments. Pastor Kevin draws from other passages in both the Old and New Testaments to show how these elements of the Old Testament system of worship reveal how sinful people must approach a holy God and how Jesus and the New Covenant fulfill every requirement for believers today. The symbolism in these Old Testament passages as revealed in the New testifies to the miraculous unity of the Scriptures, which can be explained only by acknowledging its divine inspiration. “Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished. And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so they did” (Exodus 39:32).
