Dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ

Therefore, Come Boldly to the Throne of Grace – Hebrews 4:12-16

Hebrews 4:12-16.  Pastor Kevin resumes our study in Hebrews this week, beginning with a review of Chapter 4:1-11.  These verses show that, just as most of the Israelites who left Egypt under the leadership of Moses failed to enter the Promised Land because of unbelief, we today must trust solely in Jesus’ finished work on the cross as the propitiation for our sins to be saved.  Failure to do so is unbelief and results in missing the salvation rest that God promises those who trust in Jesus alone, not our own works.   The remainder of Chapter 4 teaches us that the written Word of God is the powerful and active repository of our faith, and that Jesus, the living Word, is our High Priest Who has provided believers direct access to God.  As such, we are exhorted to “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
