We Do Not Know What Has Become of Him – Exodus 25:1-11; 31:1-32:6

Audio link includes communion message

Chapter 25 begins with God’s instructions for constructing a tabernacle as a place of fellowship with Him under the terms of the Old Covenant, which the people have promised to obey.  Pastor Kevin shows from both the Old and New Testament that the tabernacle and later, Solomon’s temple in Jerusalem, comprised both a copy of heavenly things and a foreshadow of a New Covenant with Jesus as our Mediator.

Less than 40 days after promising to worship God only, however, the people grow impatient for Moses to reappear from the Mt. Sinai and cry out to Aaron, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him” (Exodus 32:1).  Similarly, many believers today grow weary of waiting for Jesus to return.  Pastor Kevin exhorts us to remember that our confidence is not in the world’s systems but in Jesus alone: “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise” (Hebrews 10:35-37).
