What Did This People Do to You? – Exodus 32:7-29

In today’s study, we witness God’s wrath as He tells Moses, still atop Mt. Sinai, of His intent to wipe out the idolatrous Israelites in the camp below who are now worshipping a golden calf of their own making.  Pastor Kevin explains how this conversation between God and Moses, in which God appears to “relent” of this intent, is not an example of open theism as some claim but rather a test of Moses’ character and a demonstration that God cannot lie. He has and will keep all His promises to the Jewish people.

Moses re-enters the camp and confronts Aaron over the idols saying, “What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them” (Exodus 32:21)?  On this Super Bowl Sunday, Pastor Kevin exhorts us to examine ourselves and our attachments to the things of this world.  As God used Aaron after this incident, God uses those who truly repent, no matter what they have done in the past.
