Dedicated to spreading the gospel (meaning “good news”) of Jesus Christ

This page is being updated. Please check back soon!

We meet Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in the same building that our church services are held.

I hope this page and others it is linked to help you, the youth of our church, to understand what the mission of our youth group is.

The Goal
The goal here at Calvary Church’s youth group is to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone that is involved, you and your parents alike. We make a point of studying God’s Word, the Bible, so that the seeds of truth that are found in it can grow and flourish in your life.

It is our sincerest desire to see each person that we work with in heaven one day. We all face a world that is increasingly hostile towards the teachings of the Bible and especially towards Jesus Christ. The Bible says that the only way you can get to heaven to be with God, and to withstand the things of this world, is by having a saving, faith based, love relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

Therefore we teach the Word of God so you may grow in your faith. We have determined, just as Paul did, to not know anything except Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2) because He has proven that He alone is able to give us eternal life.

Where the Rubber Meets the Road
Youth group is not like Sunday school children’s ministry. The goal and even the message may be the same, but you are old enough to begin to understand and grasp the weightier matters of life. You may not fully realize it yet, and I’m sure that you have heard this already, but you are at a very important time of your life.

It is during the teenage years of life that most of us began to form our own opinions and views. You will eventually move from mimicking your parent’s views to establishing your own. It is our hope that our time together in youth group and in the study of God’s word will help you chose the right path for your life. We welcome you to ask tough questions and to expect real answers so that you can hear the truth, and we hope that you will build your own opinions based on the truth.

We hope that you will be encouraged by the love you see in us and by the teachings of the Biblical plan of salvation as you ponder the questions of life: Where did I come from? Why am I here? And where am I going?

The Bottom Line
Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We intend to help you understand what that means so that you might be born again as a child of God (John 3:3).
