Kevin Lea

Serving as Senior Pastor since founding Calvary Chapel Port Orchard (formerly Calvary Church of Port Orchard) in 1993, Pastor Kevin’s zeal is to reach the lost with the saving gospel of Jesus Christ and to build up believers through the teaching of the Scriptures, verse by verse. Raised in an unbelieving home, Pastor Kevin Lea came to faith as a young sailor in the U.S. nuclear navy during the “Jesus Movement” of the 1970’s. Pastor Kevin relates, “At once, Jesus began changing my life, replacing an attitude of sin with a desire to serve the God who saved me. I also felt a calling to spread the gospel as far and wide as I could.” He immediately fell in love with studying the Bible, embracing the Scriptures as God’s true revelation and source of all that we need to live in harmony with our Creator.
After the navy and now with his wife, Juanita and two children in tow, Kevin attended Calvary Chapel Bible School in Twin Peaks, California. They then moved to Washington State where Kevin worked for 13 years as a nuclear engineering technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton while serving actively in his local church. He was ordained as a pastor and started a church plant in Port Orchard, Washington in 1993, resigning from the Shipyard in 1995 to serve as the church’s full-time pastor.

“It has been a joy to serve Jesus for these many years, in and out of full-time ministry. I have seen His power save and change so many lives, testifying to the fact that He is alive and gives life to all those who repent and call upon Jesus to save them from sin. I hope that the ministry of Calvary Church of Port Orchard will help you become a biblical Christian, grow in your faith, and walk with Jesus until He comes again.”

Learn more about Pastor Dustin
Pastor Dustin Cummings was born and raised in Clinton, Utah by loving, Christian parents, who taught him about Jesus and the gospel. As a youth, however, Dustin succumbed to his rebellious spirit and quickly became immersed in crime, alcohol, and drugs, which eventually led to prison time. Throughout this troubled period, more than a decade, Dustin’s parents and their church faithfully and constantly prayed for him. God answered their prayers when, during a lonely night in prison, Dustin read the Billy Graham tract, “How to get to Heaven.” Full of remorse and with true repentance, Dustin gave his life to Jesus and soon became infatuated with studying the Bible, seeking the wisdom and knowledge of God.
In 2000, Dustin moved to Washington State and met Angela, his wonderful wife of 20+ years, and soon after began attending Calvary Church of Port Orchard. In 2021, he resigned from his job in Seattle to serve full time as Associate Pastor.
Pastor Dustin and Angela have raised six children and are joyfully serving the Lord in these last days under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Dustin says, “Jesus brought me from a destitute life controlled by evil to a liberated life with the total freedom that is only found in Jesus.”

Learn more about Louise
Louise was raised in a Christian Science home. Even though her parents believed in a god, they did not follow the true God of the Bible, Jesus Christ. After several years as a rebellious teenager, Louise married Frank, and they worked hard to obtain all the things this world promises will make you happy. But after two daughters, a home, and cars, they still felt something was missing. In November of 1982, they discovered that Lord Jesus Christ was the answer to the emptiness in their lives, they put their faith in Him, and they have served Him ever since. Louise says, “I love working in the office and doing whatever the Lord gives me to serve Him and the body of Christ.” Her special verse is Psalms 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
