Excerpt of interest, with Pastor Kevin’s updated notes:
… “The reshaping of Dimorphos is “completely outside of the realm of physics as we understand it…” in our everyday lives on Earth, Cristina Thomas, who is the leader of the DART Observations Working Group and did not contribute to the recent findings, tells the New York Times’ Robin George Andrews. “This has overarching implications for planetary defense.” …
Notes from Pastor Kevin: The reshaping of Dimorphos is NOT "completely outside the realm of physics as we understand it" to those who understand the Hydroplate Theory explanation for how this rock pile was formed in the first place. Dr. Cristina Thomas is an assistant professor in the Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science at Northern Arizona University, cristinathomas.squarespace.com/. Her research focuses on observations of asteroids to investigate composition, space weathering, and rotational properties. She primarily uses ground based observing facilities such as the NASA IRTF and SOAR. She is also the lead of the DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) Observations Working Group and is involved in Guaranteed Time Observations on the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope. I called Professor Thomas on March 25, 2024. I asked her what she meant by the above quote. She said that physics in space are not as easily understood by people who understand physics as applied on earth. She believes that binary asteroids are formed by the mother asteroid increasing in spin speed, through non-gravitational forces produced by the sun, causing debris on the mother asteroid (Didymos in this case), to be accelerated by centrifugal force to the point that at the equator, debris leaves escapes Didymos and then comes together as the binary moon (Dimorphos in this case). I countered that this explanation defies orbital physics. There is no way that in the vacuum of space rock piles could just come together to be loosely held by just gravity. I stated that scientists thought it was impossible for asteroids or comets to have moons. But now hundreds have been found. Then scientists were shocked when they discovered that some asteroids and comets are contact binaries. And now they are surprised to find that asteroids are floating rock piles. I said that she knows, and I know, that if the two of us were in the vacuum of space and I gave her a push that we would never see each other again. She countered that it would depend on how hard of a push. (Not part of our discussion: If the equator was ejecting material, those ejected rocks would be flying off in millions of different angles at various velocities and WOULD NOT come together to form a moon.) Dr. Thomas responded that the science of asteroid formation is still being studied and they are not there yet in being able to completely explain what they are finding. I countered that the only scientifically sound way that the rock pile of an asteroid or asteroid moon would come together is because at some time in the past a water atmosphere caused aero breaking (she interrupted before I could add)- and then the atmosphere was removed by solar winds until the asteroid rock piles are now in the vacuum of space. I asked her if there was any evidence post impact that Dimorphos gave off water – which could explain the comet like appearance with a 6,000 mile tail. She responded that there was no evidence of water on Dimorphos. She said that the idea of Dimorphos not being a solid asteroid is not a surprise to her. I countered that Elena Adams, mission systems engineer at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, and her team were surprised when the cameras on DART showed that both Didymos and Dimorphos were not solid. I also countered that NASA promised that DART would not pose a threat to Earth but now the ejected debris could become a threat to the earth in the future. She countered that she was aware of the article but said it was hyperbole. However, 19 days later, on April 14, 2024, Earth.com ran an article titled, “Asteroid Debris from NASA’s Successful DART Mission May Strike Mars.” Although the article says there is no chance any of the debris will impact earth, it admits that, “The DART mission’s unexpected findings serve as a powerful reminder of the complex and interconnected nature of our solar system.” Their findings were unexpected because the DART mission planning was based on a false assumption that Dimorphos was solid. Advocates of Dr. Brown’s Hydroplate Theory explanation on the Origin of Comets and Asteroids have known for decades that those over 200 meters in diameter are floating rock piles. She chose to stop the discussion when I again brought up that originally, everyone suspected that asteroids were solid and cannot explain why they are loosely held together rock piles.
