IMMORTALITY has been the regarded as mythology and science fiction for years but now human beings are close to defying death due to several major scientific breakthroughs which will give humans a plethora of choice on how to live forever by the year 2050, according to a top futurologist.

Dr Ian Pearson said human beings are very close to achieving immortality in a number of different ways, but only if you can make it to the year 2050. Anyone who dies before then could be part of the last generation of humans to die of old age.

Note from Pastor Kevin Lea: The above way of thinking is the epitome of those seeking after the lust of the eyes/flesh and pride of life (1 John 2:16). Are they blind to how messed up this world is? Who wants to live forever in a place that is and always has been so completely corrupted by the sinfulness of man?
In Genesis Gen 11:6-7 God confused the languages of the united (sinful) people after the flood of Noah because otherwise man would use their unity and fallen condition to do evil again.
And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” NKJV
As a result, for thousands of years man has been prevented from unifying their efforts to do evil on a global scale. With the renaissance of global accord (because of technology erasing borders and language differences) man is trying to play god in many ways, including genetic manipulation (cloning, children with three genetic parents, this article, etc.) in order to undue the curse of sin, which is death.
Ecclesiastes teaches that man will never defeat death:
No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it. Eccl 8:8 NKJV
Therefore, try though they may, the only way to eternal life remains the same: humble faith in the biblical Jesus. How? By confessing your sins to Him and receiving his gift of grace and mercy as you allow Him to be the Lord of your life. Instead of eternal life on this corrupted earth, Jesus gives us eternal life in the new heaven and earth where righteousness dwells. How awesome is that? Hope to see you there!

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
